Over de orkestopstelling:
In het midden van het podium zit de groep met tuba's, de lage instrumenten, + het slagwerk.
Aan de linker- en rechterkant staan twee groepen van de hogere instrumenten:
Cornetten, Es-hoorns, en elke groep heeft één Bes-trombone.
De groep I aan de rechterzijde is de beste en de hoogste, met de Eb cornet, de bugel, en heeft de 1e spelers.

How the band spatialy is positioned:
In the center of the stage is the group of the tubes, the low instruments.
On the left and right side are standing two groups of higher instruments:
Cornets, Es-horns, and each group has a B flat trombone.
The group I on the right side is the best and the highest, with the Eb cornet, flugelhorn, and has the 1st players.

Hoe het werk ontstond
Het idee om iets voor een ruimtelijk opgestelde brassband te componeren ontstond toen de componist in december 2014 naar Zuid-Duitsland reisde om een uitvoering mee te maken van de Sylvester-fantasy door de Brass Band Oberschwalben-Allgäu, (Dirigent: Ueli Kipfer).
Dit orkest gaf 2 kerkconcerten, en speelde ook meerdere meerkorige werken, waaronder Canzona's van Gabrieli, de indrukwekkende kopermuziek van rond 1600, de Venetiaanse school van meerkorigheid, wat toen werd uitgevoerd vanaf de balkons van de San Marco kathedraal.

Ik was altijd gek op deze muziek, wat oorspronkelijk voor trompetten en trombones is bedoeld, maar gespeeld door deze brassband klonk het geweldig!
Ik vatte toen het plan op om in de toekomst ook meerkorige stukken voor brassband te gaan componeren, wat ik aan Ueli voorlegde, en wat hij een goed plan vond.

Background
The idea of composing something for a spatially arranged brassband originated when the composer traveled to southern Germany in December 2014 to attend the performance of the Sylvester fantasy by the Brass Band Oberschwalben-Allgäu, (Conductor: Ueli Kipfer).
This orchestra gave 2 church concerts, and also played several multi choired works, including Gabrieli's Canzona's, the impressive brass music from around 1600, the Venetian school of multi choir compositions, which was then performed from the balconies of the San Marco Cathedral.

I was always fond of this music, originally intended for trumpets and trombones, but played by this brassband it sounded great!
I then planned to write in the future severall pieces for brassband, what I presented to Ueli and what he thought was a great plan.

Er werd afgesproken met Pierre Volders van de Amsterdam Brass en deze vertelde dat hij een spectaculair openingsnummer voor hun optreden op het WMC 2017 zocht van 6 minuten.
Hij was zelfs bereid om de bladmuziek zelf op de computer te zetten!
Marc componeerde als eerste een heftig openings-spektakelstuk voor Pierre's WMC-optreden.
Voor een meerdelig werk zou dit een geschikte finale kunnen zijn.

De geplande première op het WMC 2017 door het AB ging helaas niet door omdat het werk blijkbaar niet aan hun verwachtingen voldeed en omdat het volgens hen te zwaar voor de cornetten was.

Marc made an appointment with Pierre Volders from the Amsterdam Brass, and he told me that he was looking for a spectacular Opening piece for their concert on the WMC 2017.
Pierre was even willing to put the sheet music himself on the computer!
Marc first composed a fierce opening showpiece for Pierre's WMC performance.
For a work containing of more parts this could be a suitable final.

Unfortunately, the planned premiere on the WMC 2017 by the AB did not go on because the work apparently did not meet their expectations and because it was too heavy for the cornets they said...
